My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Sutton and I really liked it! I thought it was a very unique book and really fun. Bebe has a lot going on in her life that no one knows about. The biggest thing? She's engaged and hasn't told anyone other than her family, for very specific reasons. But as pressure builds for her to marry, she needs to find a way to get rid of her fiancĂ©. She's always had a crush on her best friends brother, but hasn't told anyone that either.. and the feeling is mutual. It was really fun to watch Bebe and Cal interact with each other. It was a cute, steamy, refreshing book and I can't wait to read more from Sutton. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a really fun romance.

My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by Belinda Williams and I must say that I loved it! I didn't read the others in the series, and honestly didn't realize it was a series until I started reading. But that didn't take anything away from this story at all.  I really love how Cate has a list (whether in her mind or actually written down) about what would make the perfect person for her. Honestly, my husband and I are quite different and I think it makes life so much better! But Cate thinks she has an idea of what she wants, until she meets Dave. While she really likes him, he doesn't meet her criteria, so she questions whether to move forward. Meanwhile, she meets another guy who does meet everything on her list. Needless to say, she has a difficult decision ahead of her!

This story was really cute and I loved reading every bit of it. I really want to go back and read the others in the series, regardless of knowing how they turn out. Williams has a way with writing that really grabbed me and her characters are so fun. I would definitely recommend this book to any other romance fan! I had a hard time putting it down!

My Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this book in 2 days! Really, it was less than 24 hours, but spanned over 2 days. I've never read anything by this author before and I really enjoyed her work. Heartsong is a great romantic read and second chance novels are some of my favorite. I love when two people who used to be in love can find their way back to each other, even if their lives have taken them down different paths. Micki and Gabe were high school sweethearts who went separate ways when Gabe moved to Nashville to pursue a music career. The two never stopped loving each other, but it took a while for them to realize that. A tragedy brings these two back into each others lives and after a few interesting agreements, they're spending a lot of time together. I'm a big fan of Ellwood after reading this book and I really want to read the next! I do think Seth's story would have been interesting to read, but his daughter's will be just as great!

Synopsis

The rugged men of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team are winning hearts once again in another scorching novel from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett.

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure is on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I've read the other books in this series and really liked them! They're fun, full of hockey (yay!) and romantic. And if you've read any of my other reviews, then you know I'm a sucker for guys with kids. There's just something about reading about the love of parents and children. Ryker's little girls are so cute and he clearly adores them.

I also really love strong female characters and Gray is definitely one of those! She's the only female general manager of a hockey team and knows that she has to show the world her ability to do the job. But I love that she knows it might not be completely worth it if it means giving up her chance for a family. This really is a sweet book and I'm so glad I had the chance to read this one. Can't wait to see what else Ms. Bennett has in store for us.

[Review] *Tour* Delayed Penalty by Sophia Henry

Delayed Penalty
by Sophia Henry
Pilot's Hockey, #1

Synopsis

She closed her heart long ago. He just wants to open her mind. For fans of Toni Aleo and Sawyer Bennett, the debut of Sophia Henry’s red-hot Detroit Pilots series introduces a hockey team full of complicated men who fight for love.

Auden Berezin is used to losing people: her father, her mother, her first love. Now, just when she believes those childhood wounds are finally healing, she loses something else: the soccer scholarship that was her ticket to college. Scrambling to earn tuition money, she’s relieved to find a gig translating for a Russian minor-league hockey player—until she realizes that he’s the same dangerously sexy jerk who propositioned her at the bar the night before.

Equal parts muscle and scar tissue, Aleksandr Varenkov knows about trauma. Maybe that’s what draws him to Auden. He also lost his family too young, and he channeled the pain into his passions: first hockey, then vodka and women. But all that seems to just melt away the instant he kisses Auden and feels a jolt of desire as sudden and surprising as a hard check on the ice.

After everything she’s been through, Auden can’t bring herself to trust any man, let alone a hot-headed puck jockey with a bad reputation. Aleksandr just hopes she’ll give him a chance—long enough to prove he’s finally met the one who makes him want to change.

My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a pretty big hockey fan, so any change I get to read a book about hockey players, I'm in. I knew this is one that I wanted to read right when I saw it. Aleksander plays for the Detroit Pilots and Auden translates for her grandpa's business when she has a month off of school over winter break. She assumes she'll be translating documents again, like previous job assignments from him, but she learns that she finally gets to be a Russian translator for a real person, and she couldn't be more excited when she learns its a hockey player.

This was a fun book to read. In addition to being a hockey fan, I'm a sucker for guys who can speak a foreign language. And Aleksander is hot. They're both struggling with things from their past, and they've learned to trust each other with these secrets. I really liked watching these two characters grow and learn who they really are. Although they have a really fast romance and fall in love quickly, they still spend time apart and aren't completely obsessed with each other, which I appreciate as a reader!

About The Author

Sophia Henry, a proud Detroit native, fell in love with reading, writing, and hockey all before she became a teenager. She did not, however, fall in love with snow. So after graduating with an English degree from Central Michigan University, she moved to North Carolina, where she spends her time writing books featuring hockey-playing heroes, chasing her two high-energy sons, watching her beloved Detroit Red Wings, and rocking out at concerts with her husband.

Becomes the one who wants you back

Butting heads with feisty Annie was always a thrill. Add other body parts to the mix, and Jake is in serious trouble. My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Every time I see these books come around for a tour, or are released, I get so excited! I was first introduced to the Wilder brothers in Sweetest Mistake, which is actually the second in the series. I loved it so much that I went back to the first one and read that! I've been hooked ever since! I couldn't wait to read the youngest Wilder brother's love story, so I signed up for this right away.
Jake has just come home from serving in the military and he's not too happy about being discharged. Annie has been in love with Jake since high school, but he never noticed her, at least in the romantic way. We get to watch as their friendship grows and turns into love. Plus Annie has an adorable son, Max, who Jake is instantly drawn to, but doesn't want to be. (And I'm a sucker for guys with/around children!)
I really do love these books. They're always so fun and romantic, but have deep sides to them as well. There are points in the story that are really light-hearted and funny, while other times I want to cry for the characters. This book has so many feels! I seriously can't get enough of Terry's writing! I highly, highly recommend any romance fans to pick up her books. They're all great! This series is wonderful and so is her other series, the Sugar Shack novels.
About the Author
Candis Terry was born and raised near the sunny beaches of Southern California and now makes her home on an Idaho farm. She’s experienced life in such diverse ways as working in a Hollywood recording studio to chasing down wayward steers. Only one thing has remained the same: her passion for writing stories about relationships, the push and pull in the search for love, and the security one finds in their own happily ever after.

My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I hadn't read the first book in this series when I signed up and started this one. But I soon learned that you don't really need to. The characters overlap, but it didn't ruin anything for me by not reading the first. Morgan and Ryan have known each other for years, growing up on the same small island and going to high school together. They both had crushes on each other... but never found out until they are reconnected when Ryan comes back to the island for the summer.

I enjoyed reading about these two characters, and the many others that are involved in their island life. Morgan is trying to save her father's inn after he passes away unexpectedly, but it's a lot more than she's prepared for, financially and emotionally. And Ryan is trying to figure out what he wants to do in life as he takes a leave of absence from his job as a high profile body guard. They both have so many emotional issues to deal with but they learn how to with each other's help. This book definitely had a lot of feels and it was a fun journey. And the setting was beautiful (at least how I pictured it in my head!) and it really makes me want to take a trip to the New England area!

My Review

I received a free copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Another great read by Fiona Lowe! I really enjoyed Montana Actually, the first in this series, so when I saw I had a chance to read the second, I knew I needed to jump on the chance! Set in the beautiful state of Montana, Millie and Will take us on a wild, romantic ride. Throw in some heart-pounding medical scenes and it's sure to suck you right in.

This book had a little of everything you look for in a romance; it's hot and steamy, has great friendships, lots of fun, and a little bit of heartbreak. There's also another story mixed in of Ethan, the local librarian, and Tara, the new deputy sheriff in town. I really liked reading Ethan and Tara's story too. They were so different from each other, but fit so well.

Millie and Will have an interesting relationship at first. I don't want to say too much without giving away the humor. But they're very good friends and enjoying being with each other. At the same time, they're both fighting feelings that they're developing and it's fun to watch! If you enjoy a good romance, I would suggest picking up a copy of this! It's a quick read but gives you sooo many feels!
