Wishlist List Wednesday! 1.7.15

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Dani @ Pen to Paper where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our shelves :)

I saw this book as I was cruising through 21 Books To Read Before They Hit the Big Screen in 2015. It looks really good and something that would pull on my heartstrings! Thankfully, I don't know anyone with Alzheimer's, but I can only imagine what its like to be diagnosed with it, or have a family member or friend diagnosed. I think this would be a good book to really make people open their eyes at this awful disease.

Christmas is coming up pretty fast, I've had quite a few people tell me they need gift ideas for me and my husband. Since we just had a wedding about a month ago, we've gotten everything we need for our apartment so I've had to think of other things I need. Go figure, my go-to item is books! It really made me think about which books I really want and as I was cruising around Barnes and Noble today... I found these two that I really want!

Have you read either of these? What's on your wish list?!

I heard of this book a few months ago when I was perusing book blogs. It's about a 13 year-old boy with Autism. He wrote the book and gives a really great insight into the minds of people with Autism. I have a 3 year-old "nephew" with Autism, so I thought this would be a really interesting book to read and maybe get a few insights into why he does what he does! I read Carly's Voice (see my review here) a few weeks ago, and absolutely loved it, so I know I will love this one just as much (:

I read Anna and the French Kiss a month or two ago and really loved it. Now I want to read the next in the series! I almost bought it last night from Amazon, but then I told myself I didn't need any more books until I get through some more that have been on my TBR pile for quite some time... So hopefully by the summer I'll have it! These fun YA romances seem like the perfect summer read, too!

Well, I've mentioned this book many times on my blog within the past couple weeks because I really, really want it!  It's.... Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins! I've read so many great reviews and blog posts about this book, and I cannot wait to get it! I looked for it at my local used book store, but they didn't have a copy at that location, so I'll have to look elsewhere. I'm really hope to get this soon and hopefully I'll like it as much as everyone else does! I worry that I'm setting high expectations for it, but how can I help it after all the reviews I've read?! :)

This week, I would really like to add Allegiant by Veronica Roth to my shelf! My goal for winter is to read finish the series, and I obviously need this book to do that!

What about you? What books would you like to add to your shelves?

Wishlist Wednesday

This week, I've been seeing many posts and reviews about Jennifer Brown's books, specifically Hate List and Bitter End. These sound like really great books that deal with incredibly sensitive topics. These are the types of books I love to read. I think an author that can tackle a taboo or sensitive subject can send really powerful messages to everyone: teens, adults, etc. So those are the two books that are new to my wishlist, but hope to get off that list and onto my shelf fairly soon!

A Light Between Oceans
by M.L. Stedman

Synopsis

After four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia and takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, nearly half a day's journey from the coast. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes once a season, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. Years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel hears a baby's cries on the wind. A boat has washed up onshore carrying a dead man and a living baby.

Tom, who keeps meticulous records and whose moral principles have withstood a horrific war, wants to report the man and infant immediately. But Isabel insists the baby is a "gift from God," and against Tom's judgment, they claim her as their own and name her Lucy. When she is two, Tom and Isabel return to the mainland and are reminded that there are other people in the world. Their choice has devastated one of them.

~~~~~~~
This is author M.L. Stedman's first novel, and it sounds amazing. Something about this book caught my attention immediately. It was probably the cover; I love the look of lighthouses :) But after reading the synopsis, I was hooked. I really, really want to get this off my wishlist and onto my shelves! I didn't buy any books for the month of July because I was trying to catch up with others that have been sitting on my shelf forever, but now that it's a new month, I think I'll be going to get a copy of this book (:
