This week's question:
When you receive new books in the mail, do the older ones get moved to the bottom of your list or do you go strictly "by the book" and keep your list with older ones first and then the new ones?
I guess I do a little of both. I definitely get really excited when new books come in the mail, and sometimes, I just really want to read one of those first. Other times, I try to grab books that have been on my shelves longer. But it really comes down to my mood. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to read anything that I have laying around (though there's TONS to choose from), so I'll grab a newer one that came. Sometimes I really want to read a certain genre and I'll grab one that's been on my shelf longer. So I guess I don't really have a system; I choose a book I'm in the mood to read (:
I never have chose a book by my mood. now, i'm thinking about this. hmmm.

I find that I enjoy the books more if I'm in the mood to read a certain type. I don't always choose like this, but sometimes. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI think it's important to do whatever works for you, I'm a bit too obsessively organised sometimes.
ReplyDeletelol I can be a bit obsessive in my organizing as well, but that doesn't seem to transfer to my reading needs :) thanks for hopping through
DeleteGood answer...I like it.

Thanks for stopping by!! (:
DeleteI have little rhyme or reason to my routine, other than I TRY (usually unsuccessfully) to stay on top of ARCs. But I feel like I risk getting burned out with ARC after ARC, so I'm making an effort this year to books I've purchased but never read and library books. I feel like it's helping so far.

I feel the same way. I do really try to stay on top of ARCs, but sometimes I feel like it becomes a chore to get them done if I'm not in the mood for it. I will read them at some point, otherwise I wouldn't have requested it or accepted it, but I can't just read ARCs otherwise I would never make a dent in the books I bought or want to read!
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog! When I don't know what I'm in the mood for, I also use my shelves on Goodreads and a random number generator. Gives some interesting results!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun way to choose a book! I should do that sometime to see what comes up (:
DeleteI understand how influential your the mood can be on your reading progression. I've flip-flopped so much because I just wasn't feeling it at the time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks for stopping by! Sometimes if I'm not feeling a book at that time, I'll just put it down and pick it up at some other point. I don't really consider these DNFs because I do intend to finish them in the future.
DeleteI am the same kinda. I just don't take books for review by authors any more. Trying to get through the books I have now.
ReplyDeleteThat's probably a good idea. I've considered not taking any requests for a while and just get through the books I already have... something I need to think about more (:
