This weeks question: What book are you embarrassed to admit you LOVED? (Think beyond Twilight)
Oh, this is a tough one. I don't know if I could really just pick one book, so I'm going to cheat a little. Romance novels are usually some that I don't tell everyone about loving. Favorite authors for this genre would be Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts and Nicholas Sparks. (:
Hopping through. I didn't think of Nicholas Sparks. I'm not embarrassed by them - much. They are fun.
ReplyDeleteMy FF
Yea, I'm not as embarrassed by his usually. I just get slack from friends who think he's too mushy or unrealistic. But whatever, I like them (: I've pretty much moved past the embarrassment stage for books.
DeleteYeah, I kind of forget to mention to people that I'm a big romance fan. I'm obsessed with Nora Roberts lol
ReplyDeleteOld follower! :)
So am I! (: I really love her books. And I love Sandra Brown too. I used to read her all the time in high school (when I didn't fully embrace my nerdiness for books). Her romance novels are so much fun, and her romantic suspense ones are amazing!
DeleteRomance isn't usually my thing but I do really want to read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks because I love the film! New follower via GFC :)

Thanks for stopping by! I loved the notebook as well, but one of my absolute favorites by Nicholas Sparks is The Rescue - I highly recommend it! I've read it so many times!!
DeleteI have never read a single Nicholas Sparks book. I hate to cry.

lol yes, his books tend to make me cry, but I still can't get enough of them! This is really making me want to reread one of his books again - preferably The Rescue, which is my favorite (:
DeleteThanks for stopping by and following!
Hmm, Nicolas Sparks can be a little embarrassing, but I still love many of his books anyway. Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, I love his books too, no matter what people think of them (:
DeleteNichola sparks is a really nice author to read. Especially if you just want to forget about life. Happy friday! New follower here through bloglovin :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think his are generally really quick reads and I love getting sucked into his stories. Yes, romances don't generally happen like that (at least in my experience) but i still love them and think he's a great storyteller (:
DeleteThanks for following!
I love romance novels. Love. Good choice of authors!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today! Following you back via Bloglovin.
Yes, romance novels were probably my first love. I started reading them in late middle school and high school because my mom read so many of them too! My love of books has evolved past just romance, but they're still some of my favorite reads! Thanks for the follow!
DeleteI loved Nicholas Sparks when I was reading him, and I can't imagine disliking him now. But I can't admit to broadcasting it. lol Not that they're bad, they're just sheer romance and that's not usually my thing. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF!!!

Yes, I know what you mean! And I don't think you would dislike him now either. Thanks for stopping by (:
DeleteI have to admit to loving both The Notebook and A Walk To Remember, also loved The Notebook the movie. But I don't really get embarrassed by any of the books I loved! My FFF.
ReplyDeleteThat's good! I've definitely gotten a lot more comfortable in sharing with people my love of books, so I'm not as embarrassed by it anymore. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYeah, its generally a bit awkward to admit our love for romance books, especially to our elders!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Tina! :)
New bloglovin' follower.
Thanks for following! It can be a bit awkward, especially if they've read it as well, and they know all the steamy sex scenes, and then you admit to loving it...hahah oh well!
DeleteRomance as a genre tends to be looked down on, it's a shame because they're fun. People don't know what they're missing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by The World for the Reading.
Old follower :)
I agree! It shouldn't be looked down upon at all! Besides the romance, I think they often have a really good story as well! Sure, there are some that are purely about the romance and sex, but so many others are about much more than that
DeleteOhhh, I love Nicholas Sparks!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!

Thanks for stopping by and following (: Nicholas Sparks will always be one of my favorites!!
DeleteI haven't read any Nicholas Sparks as they seem quite chick-lit-y rather than straight romance. I can see why you don't want to admit you read romance though as people often ridicule me for reading it.
ReplyDeleteYes, people do. But sometimes a good guilty pleasure or book of pure entertainment is what we need! Not everything has to be about learning something new or finding this great hidden meaning
DeleteRomances are fun... don't be embarrassed!! lol
ReplyDeleteThanx for visiting my FF!

haha I'm starting to get over the embarrassment! I would say I was much more self conscious about what I read when I was in high school and part of undergrad, but now I've pretty much given up caring if people don't like what I like (whether that be books, movies, etc) Thanks for following!! (:
DeleteI've only read one Nora Roberts, but I liked it.
ReplyDeleteFinally following you back via GFC :)
Thanks for stopping by and following! I highly recommend you check out more of her books. I think she has a series called the Night Tales, which I recommend and also read Blue Smoke - really liked them!
