This weeks question: What book are you embarrassed to admit you LOVED? (Think beyond Twilight)

Oh, this is a tough one. I don't know if I could really just pick one book, so I'm going to cheat a little. Romance novels are usually some that I don't tell everyone about loving. Favorite authors for this genre would be Sandra Brown, Nora Roberts and Nicholas Sparks. (:

  1. Hopping through. I didn't think of Nicholas Sparks. I'm not embarrassed by them - much. They are fun.

    1. Yea, I'm not as embarrassed by his usually. I just get slack from friends who think he's too mushy or unrealistic. But whatever, I like them (: I've pretty much moved past the embarrassment stage for books.

    1. So am I! (: I really love her books. And I love Sandra Brown too. I used to read her all the time in high school (when I didn't fully embrace my nerdiness for books). Her romance novels are so much fun, and her romantic suspense ones are amazing!

    1. I agree! I think his are generally really quick reads and I love getting sucked into his stories. Yes, romances don't generally happen like that (at least in my experience) but i still love them and think he's a great storyteller (:

      Thanks for following!

    1. Yes, romance novels were probably my first love. I started reading them in late middle school and high school because my mom read so many of them too! My love of books has evolved past just romance, but they're still some of my favorite reads! Thanks for the follow!

  8. I loved Nicholas Sparks when I was reading him, and I can't imagine disliking him now. But I can't admit to broadcasting it. lol Not that they're bad, they're just sheer romance and that's not usually my thing. ;)

Thanks for stopping by my FF!!!

    1. Thanks for following! It can be a bit awkward, especially if they've read it as well, and they know all the steamy sex scenes, and then you admit to loving it...hahah oh well!

  11. Romance as a genre tends to be looked down on, it's a shame because they're fun. People don't know what they're missing.

Thanks for stopping by The World for the Reading.

    1. I agree! It shouldn't be looked down upon at all! Besides the romance, I think they often have a really good story as well! Sure, there are some that are purely about the romance and sex, but so many others are about much more than that

  13. I haven't read any Nicholas Sparks as they seem quite chick-lit-y rather than straight romance. I can see why you don't want to admit you read romance though as people often ridicule me for reading it.

    1. Yes, people do. But sometimes a good guilty pleasure or book of pure entertainment is what we need! Not everything has to be about learning something new or finding this great hidden meaning

    1. haha I'm starting to get over the embarrassment! I would say I was much more self conscious about what I read when I was in high school and part of undergrad, but now I've pretty much given up caring if people don't like what I like (whether that be books, movies, etc) Thanks for following!! (:
